In 1940, Benjamin O. Davis Sr. became the first Black person to achieve the rank of brigadier general in the US Army. Twenty years after his father made history, Davis Jr. became the first Black brigadier general in the Air Force in 1960. Davis Sr. was born in Washington, DC, less than 20 years after the ratification of the 13th amendment, which abolished slavery. So, Davis Jr. moved alone to Chicago for nearly two years to secure the nomination and his spot at West Point. “So, (the Army) provided no opportunities for African Americans to lead troops, it provided no opportunities before 1940 for African Americans to fly airplanes, there were no African Americans in the Marine Corps,” Moye added.

CNN —Kris Tyson, a co-host of the massively popular MrBeast YouTube channel, is beaming in a new selfie taken after six months of hormone replacement therapy. Tyson came out as transgender earlier this month after sharing parts of her journey with hormone replacement therapy, or HRT. The treatment is prescribed to both trans and cisgender people, including menopausal women, who may undergo the therapy to reduce their symptoms. Every day living your life your own way is the best day every day.”In a July interview with Smosh’s Anthony Padilla, Tyson said that the treatment saved her life. Tyson assisted Donaldson with massive pranks and action-packed set pieces, but she said that her online fame held her back from coming out.

On Thursday New Zealand won its first Women’s World Cup game by beating Norway. Even if results haven’t gone the way of the smaller teams, many games have been much closer than expected. “Once upon a time, the US in particular was very dominant but you see the gap is closing and the smaller nations are jumping on that bandwagon,” Donaldson added. It was the first point the Reggae Girlz had earned at a World Cup, having only played one previous tournament.
